Is there anything other than Prednisone?

Ev's GI feels he is regressing to the point that he needs to return to Prednisone. Ev was on it from the end of May until mid February. It caused him so many other issues that the idea of going back there is causing us so much concern. Also, while in Cleveland Clinic the GI team felt Ev was becoming Prednisone resistant but his new GI thinks we need to try again.

Please share if you know of any other medication that can possibly help. We see his GI tomorrow morning to get a new plan set.

Our GI mentioned Entocort. Not sure if that would be an option for your son or not.

My hope is to at least have his GI consider the possibility that we can try something other than Prednisone. We'll do what's best for Ev of course but we truly hope to avoid going down that road again.

Are we talking in general or specifically corticosteroids? Unfortunately budesonide (entocort) is not having the same broad effect as pred.

The only other option to corticosteroids is going for long term treatment via aza/6mp and/or biologics without short term use of steroids. It's a question how severe the flare is, he is dealing with.

His issues are stomach, duodenum and colon/rectum. He finished his induction injections for Humira today. Remicade did not work for him. It seems he's resistant to many medicines.

Maybe Uceris with the use of full EEN might work?
At least budesonide (Uceris) has less side effect. Plus complete bowel rest might do the trick. It did for Grace but she did pred.

EEN worked for our daughter and we never needed to go the prednisone route...
