So my doctors are wanting to increase the dosage of my humira from a shot every two weeks to a shot every week. However I had to go off of humira for about a month now because I had an infection of some kind. We're certain that the infection is gone now and so since I had relapsed into a flare they want to do another induction. Since they want to do weekly shots, which I'm okay with, they want to do four shots, then two shots one week later, then the normal dose of one shot a week. Is this normal? Before there were two weeks in between shots. I just want to know if anyone else has done it this way because my Dad and I just want to be sure this is a normal protocol.

Thanks so much for your help!

From what I have read and been told by MD's aloading dose is usually needed if you have been off the H for a period of time. I was never off the sauce so I just went from every two weeks to every week. Personally, I would not be too concerned.

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV and have never slept in a Holiday Inn.

Good Luck

Yep, I went down to weekly shots. My reasons is because I was flaring in between and then weekly shots for about 2 months and nothing..so I went off because it wasnt working. It is not "normal" protocol but everyone is different in the severity so it can be done. Try not to worry, ok? :hang:
