is this normal

hello i recently been tapering off my budesonide i was on 3mg 3 pills a day now im on 1 and started on Imuran 50mg 4 small pills a day my belly has been feeling weird its like i can feel things moving threw my intestine food or gas and i get spasms no pain it just bothers me alot i dont even want to go out is it normal for this to happen when im going off one med and starting a new one? or could it be that the inflamation is coming back?

If it's a new symptom for you, you should probably talk to your GI about it. It sounds to me like it's causing some gas/bloating, which causes you to feel more. You may need to switch meds if you find it so bothersome. That does not sound like a typical symptom for inflammation coming back (but that doesn't mean that's not what it is).

Budesonide is a systemic steroid. Unlike prednisone it dissolves in your lower intestines. The good part is you don't get all those bad side effects that ptednisone gives you.
Maybe because the budesonide was working from your intestines you may be feeling a change in digestive patterns now. I would give it a little more time for things to settle down. Also Imuran may be causing some gas side effects. Hang in there. Hope it all gets better real soon._

thanks for responding guys ya i think it might be gas/bloating bcuz the feeling gets more active threw the day after eating i will talked to my gi about this thanks

Good luck. I hope you find a treatment that works for you and doesn't make you uncomfortable. As lari said, you might just need to let things "settle down" for a bit.
