Hi everyone, today I went to see my GI and recieved some very good news!

she said all the tests on my blood say everything is as it should be and showing no signs of inflammation and that the abscess that was found in early January is now completely gone!... I dont have to see her now for another 4 months and my blood tests are every 3 months rather than monthly! I was told I still have to take azathioprine everyday to stay where im at.

I was hoping that would be the result today as I have been feeling a lot better and healthier recently.. I think juicing has had a lot to do! and now i can get back to the gym :)

she never actually used the term 'remission' though, so i was wondering if I am or not?

either way, IM SO HAPPY!!! :D

I would also like to thank everyone on here who has supported me, helped me and listened to me!.. I wont be going anywhere, as I want to help as many people as I can and get to know you all better!

I am so pleased that things are going well! :) It seems that you could now use the magic 'r' word but if you are worried about jinxing things then there isn't a problem waiting a bit longer either.

That's very good news! :D remission is when tests show that there's no active disease and no symptoms. Clinical remission is when tests come back clear yet you may still have some minor symptoms. Either way you sound like you're getting back to your old self which is awesome!

Thank you! :D

Yeahh, I don't want to jinx it! I'm definitely still going to watch what I eat and take life a bit slower or with a laid back attitude!

Thank you Ya no!

Still all good so far, had a blood test today just to keep an eye on things.. but I'm still feeling good! :)

That's great. It's so great when somebody tell us good news. CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you stay in remission FOREVER!

Sounds like you got some GOOD NEWS ... Well just keep up what your doing an just a idea ... keep a FOOD JOURNAL and write all down and that means ... everything ... and then if and when you get a FLARE UP you can go back and read what you ate and see what you can change ... So, keep it up !!!

Hey everyone!

Firstly, I want to apologise for not being around recently, I have had a very busy month or so finishing my apprenticeship with a lot of testing so ive been completely wrapped up in my own little world, my bad!

anyway, i saw my GI yesterday for a 3 month check up, and im please to say everything is all good and i am completely 100% in remission! I honestly cannot believe it, work has been so stressful recently I was paranoid I would be back in unbearable pain but ive been very lucky and seem to have gotten away with it! :D

anyway, now that ive finished my apprenticeship (passed everything first time with nearly all tests top marks!) I have decided I need to spend more time on here giving advice and helping people where I can, because I feel like I have taken so much but not given anywhere near as much back, so I am going to try my hardest now!

so yeah, HELLO AGAIN :D

Thanks for letting us know. Congratulations on you top marks and specially on your remission. It gives me HOPE that my kids will get there too.

so happy for you and your success! i just was put on azathioprine.... sp? i am on prednisone right now too. I do not get D but I have inflammation that can be painful after meals. Of course i have been doing great on the prednisone but im worried about how long this other med will take to get going?

Hey Barbie, thank you!

I'm glad you're on the mend, Yes it is azathioprine, for me I noticed a difference straight away, but I started pred and aza at the same time... Im not so sure how long it can take to start working, I guess its different for everyone!

If it doesn't work for you, don't worry, there are a few other options out there for helping you, your doctor will tell you about that, or you will find a lot of info on other medicines on this forum

I hope that helps somewhat :)
