Things have been really bad last 3 days but I am refusing to up my Pred dose.

Bloody stools, intense pain, well at least my weight is going to go down again.

Good luck Kittee, I know the feelings on pred....remember there's a good chance upping the pred again won't help....I found this out last December, and due to it's lack of help, I was hospitalized. Sometimes when you taper down on pred, flare even worse, and then increase to a previous dose it doesn't have the same effect it once did. Not saying it always does this, but remember that you could try increasing it only to see nothing.

Well my insurance has finally gone through. I am 100% covered and my first infusion is July 1st.

Woot! Now my Dr. is supposed to get back with me soon, tomorrow I hope, about raising my Pred dose enough to get me through till then.
:ycool:

Thats great news Kittee. My insurance just went through as well and have my infusion scheduled for next friday. Good luck

Hey Mike, I goto Duke...you?

And I'm so nervous about the Remicade! Scared of the side effects but hey I'm more scared of feeling like crap due to Crohns so lol.

No worries really. Overall the two biggest worries I have on Remicade while on it (other than sides or it not working too well) are the stick of the needle because my veins roll, and also the need for a bathroom trip while infusing. I can't go 2.5 hours without having to crap, and I'm tethered to an IV stand and that's tethered to the wall outlet, and I've got my materials all on me to keep me occupied (movies and games). My bowels give me about 2-4 seconds average to let me get to where I need to be, or they're emptying without my consent.

I have been suffering from this disease since 2002. I have taken many medicines for curing the disease. I take iron, pentasa, questran, a d folic acid also. I know the medicine(curcumin) which has no side effect. As curcumin is a herbal product so all crohon’s disease patient can use it. :ybatty:

to clarify, there is no cure for "Crohns", only the aim to reduce symptoms and/or induce remission.

My god, stepped on the scale this morning and almost passed out. Prednisone and the stress of my new job position is packing the pounds on me.

Gotta get this weight back off. This sucks. I only lose weight and get thinner when I'm deathly ill. Why can't I eat normal and be normal like normal people?

aw Kittee, try not to let the weight upset you. and you ARE normal - well, as normal as the rest of us here

Ya I have gained 25 pounds (not from meds), I went from a size 2 pants to a size 9. I am having a hard time dealing with it since I have been 95 pounds since I started high school bout 15 years ago. Heck I still have clothes from back then!!

I REALLY know what you mean about not feeling normal. I have never been put in the position of having to buy a much bigger wardrobe - I don't feel like me anymore. I have been collecting my outfits for years, I have pieces that I am emotionally attached to and I can't wear ANY of my clothes from last year. I hate going into my walk-in closet and seeing all the clothes I CAN'T wear. Makes me mad.

So I somewhat know what you feel like. Not feeling like a normal you. My heart goes out to you really it does!
