so, i got married about a year ago and have been on BC since may of 2011...its called seasonique and makes it so you only get your cycle four times a year...HOWEVER...when i have my cycle i'd almost rather be dead. i never had excruciating periods before so i am SURE its just like build up or something from not having them. my question here is: do you think it's a bad idea to get an IUD put in if you have crohns? i am completely in remission. AND if it is a bad idea, does anyone know why?!

I don't think there's anything specific about an IUD that is incompatible with Crohn's. Just the usual risks involved. However, you may want to consider a non hormonal one, as some people can be affected by the hormones and make them flare, also there is a small increase in the risk of blood clots (as Crohn's is a risk factor, as is hormonal contraception).
