I've noticed desipramine helps my crohn's

I've had CD since 1987. It is semi-under control with 6mp and Pentasa. I have the occasional bad flares, but I'm fairly good.

I also have ADD, inattentive-type, for which my doc has tried various stimulants and other psych drugs.

One of the first ADD drugs I ever tried, desipramine, actually seems to improve my crohn's. The doc thinks it is because it is constipating, but I'm sure there is more to it because pain and blood go away too. In fact, a colonoscopy I had after I had been on this drug for a while looked very good, according to my gi doc. Unfortunately, I have a hard time staying on this drug because it makes me moody and angry and makes my heart pound.

In fact, back in college before I was properly diagnosed and treated, the desipramine seem to take the edge off the disease. Far fewer BMs and less urgency.

Same thing happened with Strattera when I was on it for a few months. I have a period where I didn't seem to have any symptoms at all.

Has anyone else had this experience with desipramine or strattera?

There seems to have been a study with wellbutrin and crohn's, but I cannot find what the results were:
