Hi All

I'm writing in the hope someone can answer my question. I have just been put back on Humira after stopping it two years ago. I just had my first loading dose 6 days ago and 2 days after the loading dose a started to get joint pain in my knees, elbows and hands. Has any one experienced this after the loading dose and if so does it subside over time?

Thank you all in advance :)

I haven't personally experienced it from Humira, but if your IBD is active it may be an extraintestinal manifestation of that.

It can in some cases be caused by Humira, though, so you should call your GI and let them know you're experiencing this symptom in case it is from the medication.

Yep, this happen to me. 5 days after the first 4 shots I started getting joint pain and muscle pain. So after calling him and explaining the what was going. Doc had me continue for another 4 weeks. He really did not think it was the Humira being the cause. In the mean time we did lab work and it turns out my creatin levels were really high (398 vs. 250 max). There were other proteins that was also high enough warranting stopping Humira. My suggestion would be to get some lab work done shortly. Good luck. Stay well.

Thank you for your replies theOcean and Bruno. I've got my next appointment with my GI in a couple of weeks. I ask for some blood works and ask him if there's a link between the loading dose and the joint pain
