I've recently started getting joint pain, especially in my ankles, wrists and fingers. It's especially bad when I first get up in the morning, or if I've been sat down for a while - I end up limping around all over the place!

I'm 23 years old, and have never had any problems like this before so I found it pretty strange. However, on reading a few threads I notice that a lot of people experience joint pain along with their other crohns symptoms... I had no idea this could be a part of the chrons, I just thought it was general malaise, or maybe something to do with anemia.

My question is: if you also suffer from joint pain, is there anything that helps with this? Can you reccommend and meds, supplemets, exercise, anything?

I really want to try to nip this one in the bud!

Your Crohn's is still out of control.... I've got jaw and sacroiliac pain which I put down to Crohn's despite the Rheumatologist saying it isn't.

There are a number of things you can do:
Referral (from your GP) to rheumatologist.
Ask GP for neuropathic pain killer such as gabapentin - pain bothers you less! - but it can be quite sedating.
Ask GP for stronger painkiller than paracetamol - you can't take ibuprofen/etc with Crohn's - my favourite is codeine or a 5ug/hr Butrans patch which is enough to take the edge off the pain but not enough to bung me up to the armpits.

I agree with Beth, you're in a flare with inflammation, hence the inflammation in your joints. During a flare, I'm totally crippled, had every test under the sun, now just accept that's the way it is. When I'm in remission, no inflammation, I have no joint pain whatsoever.
I use, Amitriptyline 25mg for neck, head and shoulder joints
Ibugel (topical ibuprofen) for knees, hips and ankles
Co-Codamol if I'm screaming in agony!
Paracetamol every 6 hours, on a regular 24 hour cycle, to keep pain controlled, 6am, 12 noon, 6pm and 12 midnight, every 4 hours does not work!
