Well lately i have been playing with my diet a lot so i eat pretty much low residue as even cooked veggies were killing me so i started juicing but the juice seems too hurt me and give gas i have been mainly juicing carrot spinach maybe really ripe apple but the doughy apples not the crisp acidly ones i tried beetroot and celery as well but no good why is this happening i need nutrients and i don't just wanna take vitamins as i believe there not absorbing much anyway please help as i want to feel better but everything hurts arrgh so frustrating

I'm sick and tired of needles and doctors last time I went to my GI for a 10min appointment cost me 130dollars and all he said was I' going o/s for 3 weeks see you then

And my gp just laughs shakes his head and says ah thats just the crohn's I'm so pissed at the medical proffesion and have no faith left in them anymore

Also I did find a very good doc that specializes in IV nutrients and has his own nurse at the clinic to administer them I did a few rounds and honestly felt nothing unless I just shat it all out or the crohn's or something destroyed them was a compete waste of time and money

Have you tried nutritional drinks like Ensure, Fortisip, Complan, etc. (the brands might be different in different countries). They provide all the vitamins and nutrients you need and should be easy to digest.

Yeah I have some in the fridge there disgusting and they bloat like crap

What treatment are you on for Crohn's right now Ozboz? Diet alone may not be enough. Have you tried Enteral nutrition?

Also, have you tried making your own soups and drinking the broth as well? I know cooking reduces the nutrients but some is better than none.

Your current GP sounds horrible. They should be able to run basic blood work for you to find out what you're low in and suggest supplements along with a dosage to try (some are in liquid form like vit D3, I've found that this works for me and others can be administered through a shot or infusion (B12, Iron etc) as I'm sure you're aware). Are you able to switch to another GP? I know the feeling of being sick with doctors and well, everything having to do with this disease. If you want to feel better though then you're going to have to keep fighting for it. Good luck! I'm sure you'll be able to get back into juicing once your disease is under control better.

I found a couple of ok gps in Boronia who seem to be more understanding than your current gp. Let me know if their details would help.

How do you do with bananas? Many with crohns find bananas easier than other fruits and veggies to digest.

if you do good with bananas, juice some up and slowly try adding various other fruits and veggies, again slowly.

Also, have you tried just drinking very small amounts of juice at a time? Like starting out by drinking only an ounce or two? Or even a couple teaspoons, and very, very slowly increase by small increments at a time? Maybe a couple of teaspoons every few hours for a week or two, and then, an ounce every other hour?

You may just need to build up your tolerance, and then again, raw fruits and veggies may just be too acidic for you. everyone is different, and your personal body chemistry may just not be right for juicing.

I wish you the best of luck!
