just about nothing

Hi I,m from calgary (if any one on here is lol) but I have been single for 5 years or so. But the biggest hit was when I got diagnosed in april 2010, I feel that I think people think thats a burden for a partner. I also have noticed that I really care less about everything, and wondering if thats just a phase?? I have had a few dates but when I told them they looked at me like I had something horrabile (even though crohn's is and a pain in the butt)

Also has any one had a flare up while on humaria, for how much that stuff is I don't think its working (only been on it for about a two months). Has anyone been to a natruopath before?

Hey Sven... welcome to the Forum. :) I am about 16 hours north of you, but a bit closer than some of our American and overseas friends! LOL!

I hear you regarding the relationship thing. I was diagnosed when I was about 13, and by the time I got to "dating age" I had pretty much resigned myself to being alone for pretty much the rest of my life because, as you say, who wants to deal or put up with us and all our crap (pun intended! LOL!).

However, out of nowhere, a manshowed up and changed my life. We started dating my last year of university, and by the time we got married (a week after my graduation) he had done SO much research he knew at least as much if not more than me about CD and what it can do.... and STILL wanted to marry me!! Granted, those people are probably few and far between... but if it is love and the person REALLY cares... it won't matter how much time you spend in the bathroom... they will want to be there for you anyway..... Sometimes it just takes time to find them.

As for the naturopath, I have never actually been to one, but I have studied quite a bit on holistic healing and supplements, and even our medical precationers will agree that, due to the fact the our guts don't work properly, there are supplements we need to take, and some "alternative" medicines that can help our symptoms and even some physical healing.... Check one out! Be sure and let them know what "conventional" medications you take, so if they prescribe anything they don't counteract each other - and same goes for you medical professional - let them know what alternative meds you might take so they don't prescribe something that reacts with the alternative meds.....

I hope you find some relief soon.... Squishy hugs....
