Just Diagnosed Crohns in duodenum & upper small bowel

I would like to hear from others who have upper small bowel & duodenum crohns to compare symptoms and see if everything is down to crohns or not.

My Symptoms

1) sometimes pale floaty stools that can be shiney
2) sometimes very dark colour stools
3) Stools that can at times be very smelly or that can smell of ammonia
4) quite severe pain in breast bone area WHILE eating greasy foods.
5) pains in front of abdomen especially right hand
6) Pains in my back. often these front and back pains precede diarrhea
7) dull pain in throat at times
8) eyes hurt
9) stools that are never normal even when solid
10) Diarrhea that is cyclical , may have it anything from 1 to 4 days back to back then some about 5 to 6 days of solids (on diarrhea days I may go anything from once to as many as 5 times , sometimes on a single day diarhhea may precede a solid bowel motion later on)

Hi Jim welcome, sorry for your being here tho. My crohn's is in the ileum which is small bowel but lower than yours. I am currently in remission but prior my pain was mainly lower right side, but sometimes felt like it was from head to toe. I suffered mainly diarrhea with the odd 'normal' stool. Vomiting was also an issue for me along with extreme tiredness through lack of sleep. Weight loss of over 2 stone's due to malabsorbtion, and being unable to eat much coz of the pain eating involved. Stool colour varied from pale yellow to dark brown day to day.
Hope you can get to feel better soon. Key is to mither doctors and get the help you need asap. Hope this helps give you a clue to how crohn's can work, but everyone is different and responds differently to meds and treatments. Best wishes

Welcome, I have Crohns in the small bowel but also in the colon. I get a dull pain in both the tight and left side as well as around the navel area. I also have pain in the rectsl area as well as the nerve endings on my butt. I agree with Mandy about getting help ASAP.
