Just need to vent...

Today I was having a conversation with a guy I have been seeing on and off for about 7 months. Met him when I was first diagnosed with Crohns, so he has seen me at my worst, saw me cry in pain, heard my endless ranting about this disease. Today he makes a "joke"... he says to me "once a Crohnie, always a crohnie". In which I instantly get really mad. who would ever ever think that is funny. I tried to push it away because I know its hard for people to understand this disease but as the day has gone by, I find myself just getting more angry about this. uhhhhhhh. People.

Km8367, try not to get to upset. Most of the time its because they really don't know what to say. After 26 yrs I've learned to pretty much let it roll off my back. Its hard sometimes but it doesn't help to let them get to you.

I think its good to get mad sometimes just as much as it is good to love, when we keep our emotions inside is when we cause more harm, release of emotions has helped me a great deal

KM8367 im sorry! I think maybe he just doesn't know how to react to your being sick. I know sometimes my husband gets sad, and down when I'm sick and just seems to say some stupid things sometimes because he just doesn't know what to say.
