Just not getting better

Ryan just doses not seem to be getting better at all. He is still having a lot of pain going back and forth between constipation and diarrhea. Also throwing up. And at this point I'm frustrated he is frustrated it's been like over a month and he is missing school and football and his friends do he has also been depressed. I just don't know what Else I can do for him. I have been talking with his doctor he is thinking about changing meds. I have been trying everything to help with pain. It's just so hard to see him like this I'm just looking for some advice

Sounds like he may need a medication change. How long has he been on his current regimen? Maybe he needs a steroid course to reduce the inflammation and allow the other drugs to kick in.

Is his pain causing the vomiting or is it from the mtx? When my son has very painful cramps it causes him to vomit. We did a round of prednisone. On day 3 the awful pain was gone and so was the vomiting. But i don't like pred

I am so sorry to hear about your son.
My daughter just who will be 15, next month is flaring as well and can not attend school.
She is getting depressed as well.

Her GI said a bug can cause a flare and it will subside in about a month. Without any tests, that can only be her best guess. We are going to do a C.dff to rule that out.

I hate to say it too, but the Prednisone may be just the medication he needs to help while his body heals. What about antibiotics?

I really hope this just goes away I hate prednisone and pray to God he doesn't have to take it ( which I'm sure he will end up taking it but I can hope). He really wanted to go to school today but he is in such bad pain that he could barely walk. I feel so bad for him all he wants to do is be a normal kid but he can't
