Wow, what a crazy summer! My emotions are just all over the place about starting Humira yesterday. I fought with insurance for days to get the injections then I think I about had a panic attack on the way to the GI office with the loading dose. The reality didn't set in until I was halfway there. Last month, R had ear surgery to repair a hole, the ear got infected which turned into 3 days in the hospital. ENT said he had only seen this infection 2 times in his 25 yr history! Then he got a sinus infection/bronchitis and the wrong antibiotic (Bactrim depletes folic acid) that made him sick when I gave him the Mx shot....needless to say, it's been rough. I know everybody here can relate!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Humira will pick him up and get some weight gain going!!! Ryan feels much less worried now that he has had the first shots. For some reason, my worry continues! (Imagine that!!)

My goodness, you and Ryan have been through a lot this summer!! I do hope the Humira works quickly to get things under control, I'll have my fingers crossed as well!! HUGS!

Crohn's is the lamest roller coaster ever. "I feel good, let's go to a movie" :) After his shower, "Actually, I think I'm too tired":( "I had a good poop":) 5 minutes later "My stomach just doesn't feel right":( "I'm really hungry":) "It just didn't taste good to me." :(

Ugghh, so sorry you've had so much going on! :(

But, hopefully, the worst is behind you!! and the humira does the trick for him!

It always seems to take me a while to get over the anxiousness/worry of anything new... hopefully, as you start to see improvement from the humira, your worries will subside a bit too! :ghug:

Hugs any new meds takes a while for the parents to "get used to"
and then any change to that med.

Hopefully things improve steadily.

Day 1 - so far so good! He has been in a good mood with the 4 shot dose behind him. Not as queasy myself (I have IBS) and I can breathe better, so fingers crossed!

Amy2, I know what you mean...on vacation last week, Ryan was tired after half a day of activities...and I finally lost it with everyone and yelled "Can we just stop talking about poop!" Bet our neighbors got a good laugh! :rof:

Oh man jm, I have so been on that roller coaster and now that I am on the carousel I don't ever want to get off!

You and your lad surely have had one helluva Summer...:ghug:...hoping, wishing and everything elsing that Humira weaves it magic for you! :goodluck:

Funny how we worry ourselves into a frenzy over every med change/addition and then later do it all over again at the prospect of leaving them behind. Round and round we go!

You are so right Dexky! We live in the world of what if, what next, and what the heck! :ycool:

Ryan seems to be in good spirits. He has gained 2 lbs, whether that's due to Humira or the sinus infection clearing up..who knows and frankly who cares! He thinks its the Humira. Like I told my DH, I don't care if it's all in his head as long as he improves! I am ready to see him take off in growth and energy!
