Yay!! today was my first dose of Humira! I received the usual 4 shots to begin with. I am extremely excited because I have been waiting so long for this... I had a severe allergic reaction to my 4th infusion of Remicade a couple of months ago. My doc decided to put me on Humira but my insurance company wouldn't approve it because I have a $600 policy year limit :voodoo: But since I am a full time college student living on my own I was approved for Humira's patient assistance program and I now receive the Humira for free!!! :)

So my question is, those of you who are on Humira, do you remember how long it took until you started to feel better after your first dose? I remember with Remicade I felt like a new person within 2 days. That'd be nice if Humira worked just as fast! So any stories would be much appreciated!

YAY!! Congratulations M! Funny how excited we can get over getting 4 shots, huh?
Mine kicked in very quickly, I noticed a change starting on day 6, and it got better and better each day after that. I was feeling like I am now on Remi - near complete remission, but it was only short lived. It started quitting working after 4 1/2 months.
I hope you have great results with it!

YAY~ I have not been around much lately! Life is super busy with a 6 month old and a 22 month old LOL!!
I have a severe allergic reaction to my 4th Remicade a couple of months ago as well~ AND my husband lost his job so we dont have insurance at the moment, I was also approved for their assistance program and started my shots Monday. I have been feeling pretty good. Although I have had minimal symptoms since my baby was born in April so we are hoping the Humira keeps me feeling well!
Good to know I have a Humira buddy!!! Hope you feel well soon!!!!!!!

Thanks guys! And JJ, that's awesome! How similar of a situation to both have reactions to remicade on the 4th infusion! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your husbands job, i know how it is to be without insurance or have very limited coverage. My coverage is really limited because I have insurance through my college so it is a student health plan which REALLY sucks. good luck with everything though and I hope the humira does its thing for you!
