I just stared MTX injections for my crohns related inflammitory arthritis. I was taking the pills and the doc didn't think we were seeing as much inprovement as we should. I also use Humira for the crohns. I was wondering if any of you do the MTX injections and if they seem to work better then the pills? I also would like to share some good news with everyone. I was just approved for disability. It only took one try. That sure takes away some stress for me and my wonderful husband. that poor man has been working 6 days a week just to keep up since this arthritis made me unable to work. :ysmile:

The data suggests that the shots are more effective.

"According to results from the first clinical trial to systematically investigate the optimal administration of methotrexate in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis, published in the January 2008 issue of Arthritis & Rheumatism, methotrexate injection (also referred to as subcutaneous methotrexate) is significantly more effective than oral administration of methotrexate at the same dosage, with no increase in side effects."
