Ughh, I feel awful and we just got 7 inches of rain in the last 24 hours here in Chicago! There is flooding everywhere!!! My basement has water in it, thank god not as bad as it could have been! (we don't usually ever flood) that is how bad it is here! Thank God for the huge throw rug in the basement as it soaked up a lot of the water that came in overnight. There is Mud everywhere though. Ughh, just don't feel well on top of it all :( Thanks for listening!

Ugh sorry that sounds like such a mess. Can you get one of those companies with machines to suck it out? I bet they are super busy but at least get an appointment.

Thanks for the reply. No, it was not that bad thank Goodness! My dad is helping and my husband will help when he gets home from work. It is messy work for sure, but I guess I should consider us lucky as it could have been a lot worse. It just sucks when not feeling well on top of everything. Thanks for the support, I appreciate it.

Ihurt, I so hear you on the rain, we haven't had quite as much as the Chicago area has gotten, but it rained every single day last week and so far it's rained every day this week except for Tuesday. I'm so sick of it, and my arthritis aches whenever it rains or snows, so I've been in pain nearly every day. Plus it's difficult if not impossible to walk my dog when it's pouring and muddy out, so my poor pooch is getting cabin fever - she's afraid of thunder too and we've had a fair bit of that as well, poor thing. At least my basement is still okay so far (knock on wood), but we're under a flood watch until tomorrow.

Hang in there, it's got to be proper springtime (nice, sunshiney, warm, flower-filled springtime - not this rain every day crap) sooner or later! And if we don't get a nice spring, then at least summer's on the way, right?

Eldest is sixteen on St George Day and her dad is be bit to strict for my like but will not listen, so she will be rebel and more shouts. If only he wouild listen to me.

I hear ya lhurt! I am obviously also in Chicago :)p).

I left my apartment this morning to what felt and sounded like someone dropping buckets of water from the sky. I got ONE block down the street and my pants were already soaking wet and sticking to my legs. You can swim in almost any "puddle" in Chicago today.

Definitely not fun being outside today.

Thankfully no damage for me thus far but I am in a ground level apartment near the lake so I'm just hoping that nothing bad happens.

Glad you didn't get too much crazy damage.

(P.S. On the plus side, do you notice all the flowers budding??? THANK GOODNESS for no more snow! LOL)

Thanks everyone for the replies and support! You all are the best!

CrohnsChicago: Yes, I hear ya about all the water! Thank goodness it has stopped! Now they say we may get some snow flurries tomorrow, WTH???
You are right, the flowers are budding and even the grass looks soooo much nicer and greener so that is an upside for sure!!! :) Gotta look at the bright side of things I suppose...

Doesn't surprise me about the snow....typical Chicago weather...LMAO. And then the next day it will be just as likely to have 75degrees with sun :p

There was no one on the Lake Shore Drive bus home today. Pretty weird considering it is always packed like a can of sardines during rush hour. Wish I would have thought to call off work too :p

Oh yeah, Good Ol Chicago Weather!

You are right , it was eery yesterday. I had to go out and get something from the store and I went like at 4pm. Well I was a bit worried about the rush hour, I mean you know here in Chicago, rush hour starts at like 1 pm most days!! There was hardly any cars on the street!! I guess a lot people were just not going out. I was a bit worried, I did not want to get stuck anywhere, but for the most part the streets over here were not to bad.

yep, already getting a few snow flurries this morning,Nothing to bad though :)

We're in Chicagoland too and our basement probably would be flooded, but we have a pretty great sump pump. There was a river running through out backyard though and I had to take 7 detours to get home from work.

I am sorry to hear about all of the rain and problems seems like when it rains it pours no pun intended. I will have to say you have a good attitude toward handling problems and just remember this to shall pass. Hang in there.
