I just spit out my cookie when I read this on the label: "Excess consumption may cause a laxative effect in sensitive persons."

What the heck is in these cookies? I have never seen such a crazy statement on a label. It's too bad because these mocha Voortman cookies are yummy but I don't need anything increasing my poop.

i just about spit out my coffee when i read this, lol.
i have no idea what could be in them?? Go easy ~ a new ingredient?

I have no clue but it's so weird its not a supplement. I have never seen anything like that on on a food product.

I'm also going to guess something like sorbitol as well. I know that sugar-free gum uses stuff like that, and it almost always can cause mild diarrhea no matter what type of sugar-free gum it is. So avoid gum too!

I just checked on the Voortman's site, if it is the sugar-free ones they contain sorbitol and malitol, both can cause a laxative effect in some people.

The only reason they carry the warning is because it is a Canadian company with the cookies made here, and malitol use requires that warning on the label, unsure if sorbitol has the same requirement. The US has no requirements.
