I am on day 5 of colon spasms I have been having and I was just wondering does this happen to anyone else?

Yes, it has happened to me. Was doing it for awhile and even after a colonoscopy my gi says there was no inflammation at that time and says a spastic colon... then I had to go to the ER, because I was vomiting and D and blood in the mucous. Turns out I had a intestinal bug and the spasms were making it raw and causeing blood in the stool. I still have some spasms but no blood, it happens and even if there is a little chance of symptoms, you KNOW I will get it. ;) I am on better antispasmotics now.

Is there a specific time you get these spasms? Hang in there!

I get them at anytime during the day. Last night was really bad kept me up. I have dicyclomine for this but its not been working of maybe it has been and if I was not taking it then it would be worse. Such a roller coaster ride my life is. It gets frustrating once you think one symptom is gone and another one pops up. Crazy isn't it.

I have these spasms as well, although not frequently. I use dicyclomine as well but sometime still have the painful spasms.

I see the GI next week. Now I am in a flare. I started taking zpak because I got an upper respiratory infection not the zpak antibiotic is killing my gut I got mucus and diarrhea just waiting for the blood next. Stinks.

I had Pnumonia Nov, was on the same antibiotics and ear infection. Make sure you eat substantially when you take them, I believe they are for 6 days? Drink lots of water, it does do havoc on your gut but they work. Hopefully you can get it under control..you still on high doses of Pred????

Ya I suspect the prednisone will straighten things up once the infection is gone and I am done with the z-pak. Just another bump in the road that's all.
