Left Side Pain (but colonoscopy only shows inflammation on right side....)

Does anyone here with Crohn's have any experience with left side pain when their inflammation is primarily on the right side? I had a colonoscopy about a month ago and I don't really have any inflammation on my left side, it's all on my right. This has been consistent since my diagnosis....I have only had right side inflammation and, in the past, have only had lower right side pain. However, in the last week or so I've started to have left side pain which I've never had before. I can't even necessarily say where it is....sometimes it feels like it's middle to upper left side pain and sometimes it feels lower, near my pelvic bone. I also feel it in my back and hip. The pain isn't that bad, maybe like a 3 or 4 on a pain scale, and it kind of comes and goes.

I told my GI doctor but since my last colonoscopy didn't show any left side inflammation she said we should check to see if it's something other than Crohn's inflammation. Well, I have since had an ultrasound that showed my spleen and kidney looked fine. I got blood work which I guess came back OK where they checked my kidney and pancreas....so I have no idea what it could be. I do feel somewhat bloated and I haven't really gone to the bathroom much at all this week, although I tend to get constipation more than diarrhea or anything else with this disease. Could it possibly be just constipation and gas? Anyone else had experience with this? I've been trying to ignore it but it's not going away.

When I'm gassy, eat too fast, or eat too large of a meal I tend to get gassy and bloated. Because I have Crohn's colitis I get pain in my colon as well as in my terminal ileum (around my belly button). Keep an eye on it and maybe try to watch what you are eating (think low-fiber, low residue).

Thanks. I spoke to a nurse at my GP today and it sounds like it may be muscular. It goes up my left side by my ribs and down into my abdomen. Since the ultrasound and bloodwork looked good, they think I maybe pulled a muscle working out. I hope so. It's funny when you have crohns/colitis you forget that symptoms could be related to things other than IBD.

That is great that they actually did an ultrasound and bloodwork- good doctor! I hope it gets better!
