I know this is the right place to come to talk about poop lol. As you know Ko went and had the MRE today and it wasn't successful at all. He has had a MRE in the past but right after he had it done they decided to do a colonoscopy. So they started the clean out process. Well tonight he cant really poop. He says he feels like he needs to but only has a little bit. So my question is can the stuff he drinks for the MRE make him so he cant go poop? I told him in the morning if he still hasn't went and I am going to give him something to help him go. I just wasn't sure if this was normal or if anyone else had this problem. Thanks

If I recall correctly, you're supposed to drink four extra glasses of water to help flush out the contrast. If you don't, it can solidify. Don't quote me on that, but it was something along those lines.

Poor kiddo...

the barium can cause constipation and white poop.

lots of fluids are needed to move things through.
Taking care of yourself at home

Be advised by your doctor, but general suggestions include:
Barium can cause constipation, so it is best to drink plenty of fluids for at least one full day following the test.
Eat more fruit than usual for the next day or two to help move your bowels.
See your doctor if you haven’t had a bowel motion within three days.

Yes we were warned countless time to give a lot of water.
We were to call and update with in 48 hrs if there was no stool passed

Well he slept until 12:30 pm today. Its been a ice day. We had about 3 inches of ice covering everything. Everything is closed and no school all around us.

I told him I needed to be told when he went to poop. I wanted to see it and make sure it looked okay. Well it seemed he pooped while I was on the phone and didn't come tell me :(. So I am not sure how much. But so far that's the only time he has went. I have been pushing the water and fluids today and also gave him medicine to help him go.
