My GI just put me on Librax to help with abdominal pain. Has anyone tried this med before and had success?

It's for IBS and other conditions but haven't heard of it being used for IBD. I'm sure someone here has been on it though.

I haven't heard of it really being used for IBD either. I suggested Levsin but she went with this because it has librium/anti-anxiety. I'm already on ativan as needed which works, so I'm not exactly sure what her thinking was with this.

So I've been consistently taking it for the last 3 weeks but it hasn't been helping much. I thought it was helping the first week or so, but I think my flare was calming down. Now that I'm under a little more stress recently it doesn't help whatsoever. On to the next.

Librax helped me at first for few weaks then I had to increase to hv the same effect. Take care not to take it if you ve constipation or obstruction as it make things worse

When I was diagnosed last october I saw two different GI doctors, one thought I could have post-infectious IBS so he put me on Librax. I never noticed a difference on it and my new doctor took me off of it when I started seeing him because he said it wouldn't help IBD.

I've tried Bentyl, and Levsin, but haven't had experience with Librax. I actually didn't think it was prescribed in the US because it hasn't been evaluated by the FDA. I may end up asking my GI for it. I forgot to mention that I have post-infectious IBS as well as my Crohn's.
