I'm on a liquid diet and on steroids for a week and still have so much pain and feel like there is a knot in my stomach.

What could this be? If its stricture it shouldn't hurt since I'm not putting solids through. Do abscesses and fistula cause sharp pain in one spot. Never had either of those.

I've had strictures that hurt like CRAZY even when on a liquid diet. The inflammation alone(strictures can be caused by inflammation & scar tissue) can make you hurt & add any sort of food/liquid it's just going to hurt more.

A decent ammount of people with fistulas don't have many symptoms other than malabsorption. If anything, I think it sounds like you have a patch of thick inflammation/abscess. An abscess feels like a sharp, pulsating pain & is located in one area. Inflammation can mimic a fistula but the way you're describing the pain, it sounds like an abscess. I'm not a doctor, of course & it can't hurt to get a CT/SBFT. Both tests are noninvasive & can be done all in one day.

Take care!

Well if the stricture were caused by inflammation alone then it only takes meds as well. How are you doing now nogutsnoglory? Any change? Did you have the MRE done yet? Any results?

Hey crabby the MRE showed wall thickening but not obstruction. I'm on entocort now and am getting a second opinion to decide on new maintenance meds that are strong but won't give me the allergic reaction.

That's great! Let us know when you see the new doc and what meds you decide to try. Take care!
