Has anyone else been told they have moderately enlarged liver and Dr wants Liver biopsy. I am really scared of this. Help

Yeah I was told my liver is enlarged my doctor is gonna keep an eye on it..Hope it goes well for you.

I have been having trouble with raised liver enzyme levels as a result of taking 6MP. I am now off the medicine, but my liver is recovering very slowly, and I may have to have a livery biopsy. That depends on whether the levels come down in the next few weeks, and what an MRI of my liver I have scheduled in the next few weeks shows.

Fingers crossed it is nothing serious for you, and that the liver biopsy goes OK.

Bethy, you responded to my son's intro thread last May. He had enlarged liver and spleen and was biopsied. I'm sure PSC has been mentioned. You've had a liver biopsy before that came back as fatty liver. Do they have reason to believe it' something different this time?

liver bx

dexy I was jaundiced 3 times back 20 years ago and could never get diagnosed my liver is moderately enlarged larger than before. So he wants this
but I am terrified. psc was mentioned 20 yrs ago finally they told me I had autoimmune hep which I just don't know but they gave me pred and I improve three sep times. Sometimes they just don't know and they make an educated guess. I think Drs really don't know half of the time. I worked for Drs about 10 yrs ago and I said now I'm gonna find out every thing I ever want to know. So one day I had a really complicated question and the Doc said I don't know. I was floored

I had a liver biopsy due to constantly elevated liver enzymes. The biopsy was no big deal, a little sore afterwards but nothing a few pain pills couldnt handle. The results were inconclusive but they are guessing it is PSC. They wouldnt give me a formal diagnosis due to the fact that I was on prednisone at the time. I would think they would wait if the medication had an effect on it but I guess they didnt think about that at the time. So here I am a year later and still elevated liver enzymes and dr.s still have no idea what is going on so I keep getting the probably psc or autoimmune hep.
