Hi everyone, i am totally new to this forum, but not new to crohns disease:poo:. My daughter was diagnosed at 5years old after being ill for over a year. She is 18 now and she has had, 5 major surgeries, countless investigations, been on elemental diet 5 or 6 times, firstly via a ng tube, then had a gatrostomy fitted. She is currently on humira, prednisolone, pentasa, iron, selenium, adcal, and gets vitamin b12 injections every three months. The surgeons say she has lost so much of her small bowel already, that they will now only use surgery as a very last resort. I also have an 11year old daughter who is healthy and a 3year old son who has had problems for months. He gets a lot of tummy pain, loss of appetite, tiredness, diarrhea(which can contain mucas), constpation, and pale complexion. He has had blood tests done and we get the results today. I am praying he doesn't have crohns but to be honest I do feel like he is a carbon copy of what his sister was like before she was diagnosed. As u can imagine we are worried sick. Xx

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I am sorry to hear of the struggles your daughter has had and that now your little one is also unwell. Just to confirm how is you daughter now? I will be keeping fingers crossed regarding the results today.

We do also have a parents forum that you should check out so you can have a chat with the mums and dads here as well: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49.

Sending best wishes to you and your family.

Well we got jamies blood results this morning. He has raised ESR so the gp is referring him to the ibd docs at the childrens hospital. Should be seen within six weeks or so. Its the same docs that my daughter had so i know he in good hands xx

Hey there Sandie and welcome.

Ugh, I am so sorry to hear about your kids. That must be so tough. My heart goes out to you and your entire family :(

My best advice is to do what AngryBird suggested: connect with the other parents in our Parents of Kids with IBD section. The parents there are amazing, knowledgeable, and oh so supportive. You'll be in good hands.

I wish you and your family all the best.
