LONG road trips

I am currently a student attending university, and one of my classes has a required 16 hour bus ride out of state. I am particularly concerned with this. The bus has a tiny bathroom, but the nature of Crohn's won't exactly give way to any sort of discretion if and when I have a problem. Additionally, the last road trip we took was 9 hours, and I was forced to contain myself for fear of what the professor himself stated would be embarrassment. However, even with a doctor's note and this issue, coupled with a few others, I am having a difficult time addressing the issue to the professor.

Do you have any ideas on how best to illustrate the point so that the professor understands and I am more easily excused from the trip?

Thank you!

I think it's best to address it because maybe you can get out of the trip. I think it's uncomfortable to bring it up but they may be much more understanding. My professors were all willing to work with me given my crohns.

How crucial are trips in general to the subject(s) you're studying? If the trip's a one-off, and missing it won't affect your ability to complete the class, then a doctor's note should suffice, and you may have a student representative or university disability centre who could speak to the professor on your behalf if the professor is making it difficult. However, if regular trips are a core part of the class, being unable to do them may mean the university can find you unfit to complete the class.
