Where to start.. Here goes- Years of diarrhea/constipation off and on. Years ago I am told I have IBS without a colonoscopy. I finally had a colonoscopy in 2009 that led me to my dx of diverticulosis. Oct 5th, I was admitted for 4 days with what they said to be diverticulitis. I had a hospitalist say it was diverticulitis and then a gi say no it was not. Anyway, after mass antibx I ended up with c-diff. My PCP decided to send to me a colorectal surgeon because he was out of options. He had me on Flagyl and another Antibx, but of course was making me worse with the c-diff. The surgeon told me about the diagnosis of c-diff and put me on Vancocin and now I am scheduled for a colonoscopy. I feel that I have more symptoms in common with Chron's and UC than I do diverticulitis.

I am looking forward to an answer on Monday. I have been watching what I eat and drink due to the bouts of D and burning sensation I deal with daily. Lately, I have started feeling depressed or something, because I constantly feel horrible. I have had years of sinus issues, sensitive skin issues, but nothing that makes me want to stay in bed. I have recently noticed dark circles that will not go away under my eyes. I do not like complaining, but heck I just wanna catch a break here! I want to feel good. I don't want my 5 year old asking me if I feel good today. Ugg..

Today I called the surgeon to tell him I did not think that the suppositories were working after Vancocin treatment and was put on meds for bronchitis and they ask if I took probiotics while on antibiotics. UMM NO, no one mentioned that I should take those when I called last week to make sure I could take the meds pending colonoscopy. I have never taken probiotics and would not know where to start. Kinda frustrated....

Symptoms: bleeding and mucous, burning in tummy, D, low grade fevers, abnormal white counts, pain in my left side, and joint pain.

Hi there welcome :bigwave: You have been been through the wringer and hopefully they will identify your exact diagnosis so you can get properly treated. It really sounds more like Crohns or colitis. Most pain for Crohns is on the right but can be anywhere. Hope you get some answers soon. Glad you joined our community!

Welcome! Sounds like you are going through an awful lot! I just had one thought in reading thru your post. Your iron levels and b vitamins and D need to be checked. Something about your dark circles got my attention with that.

Yes, it does sound like colitis or crohns. I hope you get some help and answers very soon!

I will request my levels to be checked! Thank you! Today has been rough with the burning sensation throughout my stomach. I am not looking forward to the prep for colonoscopy. Any suggestions? Clear liquid diet does not bother me, because I know physically it won't 'hurt' BUT the cleansing portion is worrying me a little...

Do you guys know if passing blood clots is normal?

Cant help you with the blood clots much but I do know it is not normal. What kind of prep are you having to take?
