Hi all,
I have just had a phonecall from my IBD nurse to see how I was getting on. So I told her I could feel the begining of another flare. Bleeding, pain, more frequent trips to the loo, hips and knees killing me - the usual.
So she said she has just had a conversation with my consultant to discuss my case, again. He has recomended that I have elective surgery within 12 months. Even though my last colonoscopy came back ok he has said when I have another flare there will be nothing they can do. They are thinking along the lines of colon removal and j-pouch, I think.
Am having a meeting with one of the team next Friday and we will discuss where we go from here. I will be ensuing a research foray now to see what information I can gather and to get any questions straight in my head ready for next Friday.
I am, strangely, a little relieved now. I think knowing they are not going to tell me to try this drug or that drug again is making it easier.
I wish you all a very wonderful Christams and a pain free New Year.
Sharon xxxx
