Low Fodmap diet woes

I'm 9 days in to a low FODMAP diet. My GI isn't convinced I have crohn's so he's treating me for IBS. So he gave me this diet, which really isn't that different than what I was already eating with my found safe foods. Before the diet I was "normal" at 1 loose stool in the morning that was very painful for me, and d about 3x a week. I was miserable, but obviously better than I've been the past few months.

But ever since my first day on FODMAP I've been worse. I've had d every day 4x or more a day. I'm keeping a food diary and such, but I can't figure out what has changed that much. The low fodmap diet includes avoiding wheat or gluten, certain fruits and veggies, all fructose and lactose.
So besides the wheat and the sugars, I was avoiding these things. There are some veggies allowed on this diet, so my first meal was a salad. How could I not? I had butter lettuce and bok choy. So I figured my d was due to this salad and figured that no matter what this diet says, I just can't do raw veggies. So I cut those out since that one salad. Also, certain cheeses are allowed so I had some brie on a baked potato for lunch, absolutely delicious. I can't tell if that was a trigger either, because I've been having d every day. I'm back to eating only one meal a day, usually just rice and meat because I'm in so much more pain now.

I'm thinking of ditching this diet if I don't improve soon. The handout my GI gave me says most people feel relief within days. I've gotten worse! I don't think this is supposed to happen on this diet. I don't know what to do. I want a loaf of fresh baked bread and my safe foods. I wasn't happy before this diet, but at least I wasn't this bad. What do you think? Should I give it more time?

If it was ME, I would stop. But the proper route would be to discuss it with your doctor first. Are you able to get ahold of them on weekends?

Did you see our potato thread?

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble :(

Sarah was on diet and also got worse. Her crohn's was confirmed on friday.

I myself got better on the diet. When we started the diet I believed we both had ibs.

Where do you live. The diet is harder than it appears to follow. There are dietian in melbourne who teach the diet.
