So Lucy has been sick for the last few days - took her to gp on sat and put her on an antibiotic - so went for bloodwork this morning as humira is due this week - nothing major alarming everything either just in range or marginally outside except platelets were 121 whic has dropped from 266 in jan. Bloods done in local hospital so will have to wait until tomorrow to speak to GI - I know we will be holding off on the humira until she's better but the platelets are bothering me. Anybody got any ideas.

Also she's got the weirdest rash on her leg - it's on about half of her outer calf and is blistered and red looking - it looks like a burn but it's not - the doc in the hospital this morning tried to persuade me it was a burn but its not sore and she didn't burn herself but he didn't seem remotely concerned but I am a little - again anybody got any ideas
Thanks Polly

I am sorry to hear she's feeling poorly. I hope it clears up quickly so she can get back on her Humira schedule.

I would definitely have the rash looked at by her regular doctor. Could be a virus or a fungal infection.

If the blisters look like targets - dark outer ring/light inner ring/dark center - then it could be a very dangerous rash (SJS) and she needs to be seen in emergency - do not wait and do not let some dummy doctor tell you it's a burn. Ask for the head pediatric doctor to look at it.

Patricia,
Polly and I spoke about this a few days ago. I told her it happened to Caitlyn and you are absolutly right very few doctors think of Stevens-Johnson syndrome unfortunatly. Hopefully she got in touch with her doctor.
