Lupus/ SLE along with Crohn's

Hi

Wondering if anyone on here has or knows of others that have Crohn's and Lupus together? I have had had Crohn's since 1996 and then in 3/10 was diagnosed with Lupus. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I had a friend at school who had Lupis and Crohns, but I don't know if the two are often linked. Note sure that that is much help to you!

I was wondering if anyone else suffers from more than one auto-immune disease? As I suffer from Crohns and also Pernicous Anemia.

Thank you Caroline, I think from the lack of response it is safe to say in is not the norm... The Drs thought it was drug induced Lupus possible from the Humira/recicade that i was on previously. They do think that it is probably from the medications and with many it disappears once the meds are out of your system. But i am the odd ball that gets to have it from here on out.

I have a friend that has lupus and celiacs disease. They are closely related in her case. Her lupus quieted down when the celiacs was diagnosed and she cut all gluten from her diet.

Since they are both autoimmune some of the treatments may address both conditions.

I have family with lupus. Mostly skin problems, I think.

I was diagnosed with more than one autoimmune disease: Psoriasis and UC. My skin problems aren't the same as lupus though. I also may have Psoriatic Arthritis.

Thanks to all of you. It seems that if you have one ailment the others like to come along for the ride. .lol. I just need to remember is can always get/be worse.

yes you can but since crohn's and lupus are both autoimmune sometimes Lupus comes up as a false positive. When I have had bad flares I have come up positive for Lupus but it was a false positive. Once you have one autoimmune issues the rest become much more likely which is why a lot people on this forum have skin, joint, eye, ect... problems.

my false positives have freaked me out but i have been resured by my rhyme this happens a lot. Good luck!
