There is a lymphnode I have under my jaw by my ear that feels bruised. Its not swollen, it just hurts. I cant feel a tiny bump there sometimes, like a pea, but its hard to find. I went to the doctor she said it felt fine. She felt all my lymphnodes, and then my liver and spleen. She said it was all good. I get bloodwork done every month, and that is all good. She told me to come back if in a month its still bugging me.

Has this happened to everyone?

A small voice in my head says what if its cancer? I just want to shut that voice up for now.

Lydia,
I have a lymph node that seems always to be tender also. I have had it checked out several times & it comes to nothing.
I have to trust the docs....sometimes....or I would be even crazier!

You have no idea, how good this makes me feel. I have been sick to my stomach all day about it.

Understandable. You went to the doc, they checked it out. Just keep an eye out for any changes. Mine has not changed one iota in years.

Ha! Yup, BTDT! You were scared, totally acceptable.
It is so different when you have small kids. We always tell people there are no monsters in the closet...then we become mothers & that changes right quick! My baby is over 30 with babies of her own but she will always be my baby! Things like lumps, bruises, a new freckle take on more meaning because of the responsibily I think.
Enjoy your "ah, it's nothin'" from the doc!

Waving madly!!!!!! BTDT too!!!!!!

Same place and all! You'll be fine hun, plus your streets ahead with monthly blood tests. :)

I'll get on my pedestal and say don't worry but not only does that not work but I do more than my fair share of worrying! Once one worry disappears I just replace it with another one...:ylol:

Dusty.

This is exactly what I was thinking. What will my baby do with out me?

Thanks for all the replies. It means a lot.

The fear of cancer with these drugs is just always in the back of all of our minds...its only natural to be nervous. I am at the point where I have to not Google anymore because I get to "stinkin' thinkin'" way too much!! Happy to hear your doc isn't concerned.

I get that too - usually under my jaw on the right side - gets tender and a small lump (pea sized?)- lasts a few days to a week, then goes away.....

I would get concerned if more than one spot seems swollen/tender or it it lasted more than a few days.....

yea i had a bump on my upper back near the shoulder blade that appeared (and i am on remicade) my gi doc told me to see my gp asap. he said it was a cyst..but im still worried

You know --I think we all have that voice in our head--She sometimes wont shut up for me...I am happy you got it checked out and they said its fine...What should we do about those voices we keep hearing? :) Sue

I just was referred to a general surgeon by my GYN about a lymph node I had that had stayed relatively large, though not painful, for about 2 months, even after a course of antibiotics. It had shrunk significantly in the last week, but I kept my appt as I could still feel it. He checked me all out and said that most of mine were normal sized but some people's nodes are prone to enlargement over the tiniest little infection. The one I had been a little concerned about was on my groin and he said that even where I shave my bikini line, if the skin got irritated that could be enough to enlarge a node down there. He said when they are large for extended periods of time, that is when they can become worrisome, but in my case, it was large for a couple of months (that seems like a long time to me) and then suddenly went away.

I'm glad yours went away, Lydia.

@ Sue - we keep listening to those voices and checking things out because its better to be safe than sorry...and we ignore th people that make us feel like we are hypercondriacs (however you spell it) because those same people would do the same thing if it was about themselves or their children.
