Major Flare Up

Just had my first major flare up since going in. Not fun at all good part is only spent 4 days in hospital instead of 1 month. I still lost almost 15pnds which sucks has anyone ever had that much weight loss?

Also got a prescription for Azathioprine anyone on that here?

I am so sorry to hear about your flare. I am not feeling too hot these days either. Sucks, doesn't it?

I don't have experience with Aza, but I sure hope it gets you well!

Aww, Denisk, sorry to hear about your flare up, but glad the hospital stay wasn't too long this time. Lots of people, including me, on Azathioprine. Head on over to the Treatment section of the forum and join the Imuran club.

Yeah man, I'm on Aza. It's a good drug, if you can stomach it then you'll be fine. Something like 8% of people can't tolerate it which is unfortunate cos it's a great drug, especially for us with bi-polar Immune system's!! ha.

I just lost an insane amount of weight (21 lbs in just a few weeks). I was having pain and vomiting everything up. I've been in a flare for a while, but I'm on Remicade and it's finally helping me put on some weight.

I was on Aza a long time ago, don't remember but there was probably a reason I came off of it. A lot of really good drugs just stopped working for me in the past, unfortunately. Good luck, and if it comes down to it, drink plenty of Ensure. The weight will come back on.

I've also just started Azathioprine in the last couple of weeks. I have taken it before and it worked brilliantly. I came off about 8/9 years ago because I was well but I'm currently flaring, the steroids haven't worked for me, so I'm back on it. Hope it works for me again and hope it works for you too I previously had no side effects with this drug.

So far so good but it's only the first day. I think the 40g of preds was a bigger shock then the Aza. I appreciate the feedback.
