Making Sense of Top Down Therapy for Crohn’s Disease.

It does open up a whole world of possible drug combos that could be tried in the future. One of my main concerns w/ EJ going the Humira route so early was, where do we go from here?? Though the study doesn't include patients who have previously been on bios, it does give me hope that these combo therapies will be something we can at least try should the need arise. Thanks Dusty!!

Thanks Dusty !
I think my biggest worry anymore is what do we do after the biologics are exhausted ? Then what ?
It would be wonderful if they had more information on long term...20+ years of use.

Well that one just freaks me out !!
Gab was checked for immunization/immunities to HBV before she started Cimzia, and she had none, zip, zero. I have records proving that she had her required series of 3 immunizations as a tot, but none of them took effect.
They decided that since the first series obviously didn't take, then they didn't need to do a second series over because chances are they wouldn't take either.
When I first started reading that I thought it was saying that is what happens with IBD patients; their shots don't take effect.
So, Gab has absolutely no immunity to Hep B, and she is immunosuppressed now...arrgghh.
Move over Dex and Kathy, and make room for my head !

I'm new to all of this, but the more I read and learn, the less I really want to know!
Is there room for one more head?
Nic x

Right next to mine lol. I just need one without potential neuro side effects. We all are looking for the next best thing......or so it seems.

Ha, I spend most of time, well when I'm not worrying that is , cleanin' the sand out of my bloody eyes and ears!

Dusty. :)
