I have a few narrowings I'm learning to work around. The steroids I'm on are stopping the D but now I can't go. When I do go its alot of straining pencil poo size and about 2' long (soory TMI) .

I have a few foods that I know give me D so when I feel too clogged up (usually a day and half) I eat the forbidden food and spend the next 3 hours dumping. The D is foam consistency. Which is a bit scary that the only way it will now come out is to be like foam.

My next appt isn't until Jan 5.

I got a blood transfusion last week. I'm starting to get a little energy back but I also feel the effects of this D manipulation -- mouth ulcers, sore tongue, palpitations, etc.

How weird to spend all these years getting rid of D and now trying to make myself get D.

Is ther a list of signs to watch for-- I assume fevers.

Thanks for listening,
Robin

Yes... hate to admit it, but if I get a bit clogged I can rely on half a packet of "Liquorice Allsorts" to clear it all out in a most spectacular fashion... and I think they're rather yummy too!

And I'm no stranger to the "foam". Sometimes it happens out of the blue, when I 've had a prolonged period of normal poos... not sure what I've done or what I've eaten to cause that, but I don't worry as it's normally an isolated incident... if it happened constantly I might think different.

hey hearts
i am assuming from your post that you have one or more strictures? have you ever consulted a surgeon to see about having it dilated?
might sound scary as a surgery, but its pretty simple. they really just stretch out the narrowing using a rod or balloon i believe.
i have a stricture in my rectum that was too causing me to have the pencil poo issues. a surgeon dilated a few times for me and it is close enough to my exit that i can dilate myself on a regular basis.

let me know if you have any more questions. it might really help you to look into this
