many bowel movements per day

Im taking med's one is Mesalamine....seems to help me alittle...still going to the head 20-30 times a day....Im getting a CT scan on the 18th of this month. And a skin test plus a blood test, had a colonoscopy 3 weeks ago, no cancer, everything fine. But I have crohns disease at age 61....changing my diet is difficult but I have too. Im going to the VA HOSP Audie Murphy for help...they are wonderful...I wanna go to Vegas on the 27th of this month, but I dont want to keep going to the bathroom endless times on the plane, so I may just stay home. Thanks for reading.

Lanny, oh wow do I remember the 20-30 times a day......ruunnnnnnnnnnnnsssssssssssss to the loo! I hope the CT scan can give your Dr's some answers. But Asacol or as you say mesasalazine will not stop the runs and the inflammation that much! I'm sorry to say but it sounds like you will need some prednisone for that to stop the flare.

I hope you get the chance to go to Vegas anyway hon. Dont let this nasty disease put your life on hold. Go for it!

For me starting back up o 6MP/Mercaptopurine helped stop the frequency a little. Asacol alone may not be the best treatment for you at this time. DOn't get me wrong I think its a great drug and I did very well with it but having something else like a steroid or immune suppressant along with it might be beneficial to you. Hope you get the treatment you need soon! There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to hit Vegas if you get the right med combo down. :) I love window seats myself but if you don't want to be a bother to strangers, an isle seat may be best just in case. ;)

I'm glad i'm finding out I'm not the only one that had the 20-30 bathroom visit experiences. Those were the worst days of my life and I know what kinda hell your going thru.
