Hello all,

Sorry it's been ages since I have posted on here.

It's been....well ok I guess. Since having the schisto treatment I have had another colonoscopy which still showed some ulcers but apparently they were superficial. I also since had another MRI scan which showed I still have strictures in the small intestine. Been having loose bowels and on and off pain recently aong with painful wrist joints. I am not sure where I go from here I don't see my gi until beginning January after I take a course of steroids.

So long story short I am still undiagnosed and still suffering.

Xx

Well at least they have something to go on. Have you looked at your diet to see if anything there is aggrivating your conditions?

Good Luck in getting the right meds from your GI to help you back on your feet

I'm sorry you're still having problems, Okitsme. :(

Hopefully the steroids will help and the GI will have some good ideas when its time for your appointment!

Hey there Okitsme, try to keep your head up as best as you can. I know that it can be hard being in pain and not knowing why? This actually happens a lot with IBD and other diseases that have such a large amount and varied types of symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better soon and that your doctors figure out what it is that is ailing you.

Thank you everyone.

Well tomorrow I start my course of budesonide and really hoping it works. I have to take it for 8 weeks to see if it reduces my strictures. I am also hoping it does not make me gain weight as I really can't afford that lol.

Good luck Okitsme, let us know how the treatment goes for you.

Sending hugs and positive vibes your way....

Hi everyone, been on the steroids for almost two weeks now. I am not sure when they are supposed to work but I don't feel any different. Up to a couple of months ago I used to get abdominal pain every couple of months which I thought was odd and this led me to see a specialist. Well these the pain is more regular and it's really bad. It takes a lot to make me sick but when the pain starts I always feel like I am going to be sick. I am really starting to get worried about what I eat these days. The pain comes every couple of days or so and it's really bad, I have to take strong painkillers to help me. When there is no pain I have a constant but bearable ache which lasts the whole day. If I eat something like a mince pie I am in agony that evening. Really starting to wish they would diagnose me now and get me on some medication.

Sorry rant over.
Take care

David

Hopefully you will start to see some improvement within 2 more weeks. I'd imagine ulcers may take some time to heal. I wish you well.

Hello there!

Just checking in and seeing how you were doing with the prednisone and tolerating the holiday season, especially regarding food.

Hi there.

It's budesonide that I am on. Been having a hell of a time the last couple nights. The pain has been unbearable at times about half an hour after eating. So not good lol.

Hope your festive period has been better.

:( Sorry you are still not well.

Have you called your doc about it yet? Are they going to keep you on the steroid until you get that appointment?

I am seeing my gi on the second and I want to tell him I don't want to be on steroids anymore and he should do the operation. The pain is due to a stricture I am sure so the sooner he does the operation the better. I also want to demand a diagnosis if he can give me one. Not sure how far I will get with it but I sure am going to try lol.
