med recall..ugh

So far I haven't found anyone else dx with interstitial cystitis. I take 6 elmiron a day for it and have for 4 years. Now its being recalled and my pharmacy isn't going to get anymore of it. They said I could probably try canadadrugs.com but when i looked it was like $500 for a month supply! Holy Jesus why are illnesses so expensive. anyone else have an alternate idea?

I am sorry to hear about the recall!

Have you spoken to your doctor about this? I would hope they are aware of the situation and would be able to prescribe the next best alternative.

Oh man! There's only ONE oral medication for that? That's terrible! Had to look it up cause I haven't heard of it before. Only other stuff it suggests it to help with the symptoms like pain but I don't know how well any of those or the combinations of them will work for you. I wish illnesses weren't so expensive I really do. Why is it being recalled?
