Most states have a secondary insurance for kids with chronic conditions regardless of parent income .
These qualify the kiddo for medical assistance and are retro active back 3 months I believe so that could help

Depending on how the charges are assessed (copay, deductible etc.), the hospital might consider a 10% discount if paid in full. Worth a phone call. It worked for me a couple of times. I know it's not a lot of help but everything counts. Also, as you may be aware, they all generally work with you on setting up a payment plan.
Hi, we have the special kids health insurance of Michigan.
I can't even began to tell you how great this program has been for us.
Back story..
We have Priority Health ( private plan).
But even with this good plan ( that we pay dearly for) it still hard to pay all the deductibles and co payments.
This plan takes care of all of that.
Plus if you qualify the kids can get state insurance and still get the special child insurance.
Grace is covered a100% and they go back 3 months and cover those coat as well.
