Hi there! Now that Ella is taking 4 different meds at multiple times of the day and her vitamins on top of that, does anyone have any recommendations on tracking them? Since all of her meds are liquid, I usually pull them all into the same syringe and try to limit how many times we have to do medicine as it's still a struggle. I'd like some easy way to track what I've given and how much and also so that my husband can see what I've already given in case I'm not home and vice versa. I'd also like to note how much of each I'm giving and the time I have it. A reminder would be a bonus!

For example, she takes:
1. Sulpha - 2x day at 5ml each
2. Pred - 1x day at 1.5 ml (also reducing weekly as we're trying to wean which confuses my husband)
3. Flagyll - 3x day at 1.8ml
4. Periactin - 2/3x day at 2.5ml.

So her first round is 5ml of sulpha, 1.8 of Flagyll and 2.5 of Periactin.

Next round is 2.5 of sulpha, 1.8 of Flagyll, and 1.5 of pred.

Then third round is 2.5 of sulpha, 1.8 pf Flagyll, and 2.5 of Periactin. If she hasn't been too sleepy, we do another lone round of Periactin before bed.

The reason I split the sulpha in two is because that's the medicine she likes and as long as the syringe is orange, she'll take it easier (sometimes all on her own).

I was thinking maybe there is a phone app hubby and I could both download that would be easy to setup and would sync up. But I'm open for any suggestions.

If you have an Android or iPhone, here's an app I've heard some really good things about for tracking medications! It's called Medisafe. You can even add a "MediFriend" on it who gets alerted if you miss a dosage so they can remind you. :)

It also actively tracks your medication usage and charts things for you.

There is pillboxie app
Where you can take photos of your meds alarms reminders etc...
Some pre fill syringes - buy in bulk amazon .
Put sticky labels in them and put them in the plastic bins in the fridge or cupboard.
Color coded with stickers for days of the week.
So you have one day at a time .
Not sure if that works when you mix meds together ( ask you doc and the pharmacist??)

Simple chart on the fridge or cupboard that you can check off .

All great ideas! Thanks. I did ask if I had to give her meds at different times and was told no by the pharmacist. Not sure what difference it would make to swallow all at once as it will all mix in her tummy anyway.

But maybe they can't sit inside a pre-filled syringe together for too long, so that's a thought. I always pull it up and give it to her right away.

When we were in the thick of antibiotics and supplements, I created my own little excel table with what meds and times and with open boxes for check marks when given. Printed several days' worth to keep in the kitchen where I walked by frequently to remind me, but it can be really hard to keep track of!

Maybe a google docs spreadsheet could work? That way we can both look at it and I won't have to print anything.

So far Ive started using rxmindme and medcoach.

The medcoach is account based so as long as we log into the same account we both get the reminders etc. the rxmind me is very similar to the medcoach but isn't account based. So I'm leaning towards the medcoach but want to try them both in tandem just to make sure.

When my daughter was on cipro, flagyl, raniditine, iron, Imuran etc. etc. etc. we used an app called DrugHub. It worked well - we'd get a notification when it was time to take her meds and it allowed us to keep track of dosages and dosing times. She's no longer on iron or any antibiotics, so we just do the Imuran in the morning mixed with raniditine and then the second dose of raniditine at night. I'm glad it's simpler now. It was so stressful trying to keep track of a more complicated dosing schedule!

Thanks! I just searched for that in the AppStore and it didn't come back with anything. So I searched the internet and it found it, but continues to come back blank in the App Store. It looks like it may be for Canadians only. :(

I use good old fashion weekly pill box and every breakfast and dinner the pill box is on the table. My pill boxes has spots for three different doses a day. My cell phone alarm (ok not old fashion) is set to ring for the humira and mtx shots.

I have a spot where all Grace's "once in a while or as needed meds" are easy to get to.

Hugs, I know at first it's a lot to get use too.

I'm a list person and like seeing things on paper, so I made a good, old fashioned calendar for the fridge. It was the only way I could keep the slow Prednisone taper straight!

I'm really liking the medcoach. I had DH install it today and he got the reminders just like me and he gave Ella her 2nd round today. He was able to see the med names, bottle labels, dosages, etc and then note the time he gave it. It cleared the reminder for me on my phone and I can see everything in the log. 👍
