Are there any (long-term) treatments out there that don't cause your skin to go photosensitive?

It seems like all the main ones such as Azathrioprine and Humira seem to cause it.

I know imutan, 6mp and methotrexate do.

My son is on humira and methotrexate. He was on Remicade and methotrexate before that. We live on a lake and he spends his summers on the lake. He uses sun screen.

When he was diagrossed and placed on a biologics the GI had him make yearly visits with a dermatologist.

The 5ASAs may not, but they generally aren't a great monotherapy for CD.

Thanks for the info.

That's super disappointing :( I really want to avoid committing to a treatment plan that gives photo-sensitivity

Yes. A newer one. It's suppose to be gut specific and thus less side effects.

Thank you I will definitely ask my GI about this :)

It actually sounds really good. I like how it starts off weekly and as you keep using it you need in the injections less and less frequently.
