Mezavant xl help required

Hi.

I am posting on my brothers behalf in order to get feedback and help regarding a condition he is suffering with medication.

He was diagnosed with colitis in 2011 and was placed on mezavant xl in November 2011 on the highest dose of 4 x 1200mg dose per day.

He has been experiencing in the past 2 months constant numbness in his thumb fore and index finger on left hand and a tingling sensation in his right hand at he tips of his fore and index finger. It gets worse At night when lying down.

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms. Or have any input that could help us identify if it is the drug causing this.

I havent had any side effects myself, but it is listed as a side effect and if it persists then contact your doctor. Would be worth talking to your GI when you can.

sounds weird. possible blocked nerve. has he been to the gp with it. has he any swelling?
how is his UC now? is the mezavent doing any good? can he go down to the lighter dose of 1200mg x 2day.

Hi. I was on mezevant xl for a year and had no symptoms apart from constipation. Defo get it checked out.
