I started Imuran in september, after being weaned off steroids. I'm currently on 200mg a day and I had weekly bloods for the first two months, everything was fine/normal.
I've been doing ok since then, but around mid november I had something that didn't agree with me, since then I've had occasional cramps/small amounts of blood. Nothing that is severe/interupting anything but more often than I would like.
I was wondering if anyone experienced this and, if so, were they given a course of steroids or switched meds or is this just a normal thing? Like I'll have a base level of symptoms and that's what I have now.
One thing that does worry me slightly, is that the symptoms are worse now than before I was diagnosed. I really only had pain when pooing & blood on most trips to the bathroom as symptoms with occasional cramps & loose stool/diarrhea, the colonoscopy made me flare up and hospitalised me.
But as I said, lately I've been getting cramps more frequently and theres been occasional blood (not nearly as much as before though)
I went to my GP about a month or so ago to get iron and such tested because I was tired and to get the flu injection (figured it was easy to get it all in one go) and it was faster to go through him, he also tested me for inflamation just in case and the tests didn't show elevated inflamation markers
I'm seeing my GI doc at the begining of Feb, but I just wanted to have an idea of what to expect going in. I don't particularly want to go back on steroids (I like my face the shape it is thank you very much!) but if I have to I want to be half prepared for it.
