Hi all,

I may not be able to have my Humira injection tomorrow because my order got messed up due to the change in my prescription (going from fortnightly to weekly). I've run out and need one tomorrow, but they might not be able to deliver until Monday...

Will it be a huge problem if I miss one/take it a few days later? Starting to panic a little bit... :/

you could ring round a few pharmacies and see if they have any in stock, and if so, see if you can get your gp to fax a quick prescription to that pharmacy... or maybe even contact your hospital gastro dept and tell them the problem...

I don't think it's a big deal if you take your shot a day or two late. I did it quite a bit, oops!;) But I never had a problem. Good luck, Ian!

Also, like Dingbat said, you can also contact pharmacies or even your gastro or nurse to assist you.

I agree, try calling around elsewhere, explain your situation and see if another pharmacy can help you. If that doesn't work and it's only going to be a couple of days, I'm sure you'll be fine. I was two days late once. In future, try to always have a backup shot in the fridge.

I was travelling today so I wasn't really in a position to make lots of calls etc. I spoke to the nurse practitioner on my GI team who told me having it on Monday should be fine. To be fair I don't think it's working anyway so it's no big loss!

I don't know why the hospital couldn't have provided one for me though? I have a GI appointment tomorrow...

Anyway, thanks for the replies everyone! :)

Since it (probably) gets delivered by Healthcare-at-home on behalf of the hospital I wouldn't have thought phoneing around the local chemists would help you anyway since you wont have the script.

Anyway, I have shifted my injections about a few times without trouble. Good luck with the weeklies.

Gonna be tomorrow now... they said Monday (today) but due to 'human error' they processed the delivery for the 21st of MARCH instead of Feb! That's two f**k ups now. We called the GI nurse to ask about when to take the shots and it sounds like she's lodging a complaint with Healthcare at Home lol... I didn't ask her to!
