I've noticed that, for me, ovulation is the most crippling time when I'm having a flare. More or less every time I have been knocked out by the pain, I get my period EXACTLY two weeks later... I don't know, maybe there's something to do with the process of releasing an egg so close to the affected area that my body goes bonkers. Hell, during my second flare, before I knew what the hell was going on I was saying it felt like my ovary had exploded.

Does this happen to anyone else?

hi, yes, i could always tell when i was ovulating too. crohns was the most hideous part of pmt and was on and off loo the whole time. never could go out the house. menopause is now here and i'm off to see nurse for hrt patches, its my bones now, yes it makes crohns worse too. you have that to look forward to, can i suggest upping the pain meds during ovulation? not that i've got successful pain meds. i even wake up in pain when taking tramadol.

I'm super nervous because I'm supposed to ovulate in like... two days, and I have nothing stronger than tylenol and my doctor won't prescribe me anything unless I'm already in agonies. Oh boy, taking the subway during all that will be FUN.

Hiya

Ovulation and menses were the most crippling time for me too, and this was cos of endometriosis.
These endos were attached to all my girly bits, bladder and bowels.
Discuss this possibility with your gynae and ask for a laporoscopy to rule out endometriosis.
Check the forumwiki for more info on how Endometriosis can mimic Crohn's
good luck

Thanks for the info, but I'm all clear when it comes to my reproductive organs. I've had more exams down there than I can count in the process of diagnosis. But thank you!
