Hopefully, someone from Montreal will write in...

Chef,
i just wanted to know 2 things... 1)who is your doc/hospital, cause i think my doctor is giving me a hard tme so i might switch.. and 2) how you feel about coming to victoria bc with me to visit glum and cheer him up?

that
is
all.

Hey Doc;
I see Dr. Waqqas Afif at the Royal Vic. I've only seen him twice since I've moved here, and I've been in remission, so I can't speak about how good of a doctor he is if you are sick and need care. He did, however, get me in for a colonoscopy within three weeks, so that was much better than having to wait a year or more. Note, if you do get in to see him, get an appointment as early in the day as possible. Later in the day, he can run up to 2 hours behind schedule, so a 15h45 appt means more like 17h30.

And, absolutely, I'd love to visit Victoria!! I've only made it to Vancouver, not out to the island... I wouldn't move there, though. I love it here!! Have you lived here all of your life?

What movie is that you're talking about? The one where Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman switch bodies? What is that one called?

well thats good.. i never have to wait long for a colonoscopy... though thats the one procedure i would gladly postpone to never.

..the ryan reynalds one is "The CHange-up" (2011).

OOH , chef, i just made some fried chicken fingers.. but forgot to put salt with the flour that coated the chicken so after frying they ended up tasteless.. im so pissed! i ate half of them.. any way to infuse the salty flavour back into the ones i didnt eat yet?

cheers :)

ps: my friend wanted to decorate cakes for a living, but i told her its not all icing on the cake.. but maybe im wrong? lol

Hey Dr. Who,

I live in Guelph, ON but I'm going to Montreal for 6 weeks starting next month for the EXPLORE program at UMAQ (I think that's right?). Anyways I'm in a flare now but I'm going anyways cause I don't want to miss the opportunity. EEK nervous.

I went to attend McGill back in 2001, and after two months, got sick and returned to Victoria. I was royally miffed 'cause I was loving Montreal. I made more friends after being in Montreal for two months then I have living in Victoria for so many years. It says a lot about both cities.

Seriously, Dr. Who, once you come to Victoria, you'll be glad you live in Montreal! Victoria is a nice place to visit (I think), but it lives up to its name (Victorian and stifling). But hey, you don't have to take my word for it...exchange it is! I'm not living in the million dollar real estate, but there's plenty around here!

When I was on Prednisone, my brother started calling me "Plump Chump." At the time I joined this forum, I was quite sick and took to calling myself a glum chump.

Oh, and your friend might want to come to Victoria, too---there are at least 7 *cupcake* stores in this city. Sheesh. What's with the popularity of cupcakes?

Hey Sam!

Awww your too pretty to have crohns :(
lol :)

i spent one year at UofWaterloo.. living on campus was fuuuuuun..though i got siiiiiick ... and kitchener was so smaaaallll... i dropped by guelph once but it was even smaller lol i bet someone there might remember me :-D

Welcome to Montreal!

Yes, UQAM is the Universite du Quebec a Montreal.. and the EXPLORE program i just now read about thanks to you... but i think ill pass. i took french every day in elementary and high school. lol maybe you and i should switch places.

Ahhh montreal, nothing like walking in downtown Montreal during the summer.. the energy from all the healthy people around you.. the cool breezes bouncing between buildings.. the mix of old and new architecture .. restaurants opening up to the side walk... and of course the shopping.. do you shop much? i like window shoping, i dont actually buy the stuff but its nice to know whats available lol.

oh your nervous about coming? you can always skip the activities and just spend some quiet time in your dorm room, right? even if your sharing your dorm with other EXPLORE students they'd probably be out doing activities.
or you can choose to ditch the crowd and walk montreal on your own.

also your not that far from home, should anything happen. plus we got like 6 hospitals here just incase. just ask for the doc! lol

ttys

ps: or maybe wait till next year when you feel better?

I have a freakish shopping addiction so I'll have to steer clear of any shopping areas.
I don't want to wait for another year because my major's French and I really need the practice.
I'll tough it out. It's pretty much free so worst case scenario I'll just come home. Even a couple weeks speaking french would be super helpful.

you came all the way here for mcgill? whats wrong with UBC? :p i actually spent a few days living at UBC campus. only campus ive ever seen with a freaggin highrise apartment building, from what i recall.

i think its cause you were at mcgill.. i made lots of friends while at mcgill.. thats just the way it is at uni i guess. no?
