Are there any risks with a brain MRI?

I know enough to say no to a CT scan for research.

My middle daughter has a chance to take part in a study of how the brain learns. The study involves a MRI of the brain.

Without contrast no risk outside of magnetic field stuff
With contrast risk of allergic reaction
Plus retaining whatever contrast they use
DS has had two mri of the brain
They take a while but otherwise no real issues

Just as mlp said Catherine.

Sarah had an MRI of her brain about 5 years ago. She kept getting these weird cold shiver sensations so the GP sent her to a neurologist and an MRI was one of the battery of tests he sent her for. She had no issues with it.

The study sounds fab!

I've had a brain MRI no issues aside from claustrophobia because you're in a box and they put a shield over your face.
