Hi my name is Rachel this is my 1st post so please be gentle :)

I was diagnosed with crohns in march this year and have obviously been racking my brain for all the little symptoms i have been experiencing and for how long. Well as far as i can remember back to 2008 i have always had mucous and have been feeling well so my question is can i go into remission but still have mucous?

I have just started the modulen ibd liquid diet and i feel so much better after 4 days and have so much energy compared to before but i still have mucous. I think this is something that will always affect me but i dont know if you can have it and be in remission.

Any help would be great.

In my experience, mucous generally means you've got inflammation somewhere. You may not feel it if your pain tolerance is high or it's in a convenient spot, but likely you're inflamed somewhere. Mucous-like stool might possibly be related to diet, but I think that's unlikely.

I'm not sure about the mucous but I don't imagine it would be something that would be present when you are in remission.

It's great to hear that the Modulen is working well but I think 4 days is too soon to expect the mucous to disappear. Although you are feeling fab the inflammation itself will take a while to settle, once it does you should notice a difference.
