Hi,

I am new to the group and thought I would share a little about myself. I am 28 and have been diagnosed with Crohn's about 4 yrs ago. I had issues with my stomach and going to the bathroom many years before that but I just thought it was the common stomach issues like a virus or something I ate. I had a colonooscopy and was diagnosed with Crohn's but since I waited so long to get any treatment it is moderate to severe. I had many issues with medicine they gave me and now I take the Humeria shot which has been working great untill the past month. I went to the doctor and took a bowel movement sample and now a week later they want to do another colonoscopy. The part that bothers me is the results after the test and the fact of why they want to do another colonoscopy. When they called my heart felt like it dropped and never dawned on me to ask why he wants to do another one.

I have a boyfriend and of course a family (mon, dad, brother, and sister) but 6 kids along with the boyfriend and they are great but it is very stressful and on top of that I am in school for my bachelors and work. We also have 3 dogs but one of the dogs (Max) I have had for 8 yrs went to the vet today and they told me his prostate is way bigger then it should be and that also made my heart drop. I have had him so long and we are so close that he follows me around the house all the time. It was me and my son for a long time and he has always been there so it is sad to know that something is wrong.

I guess I am here because it is like every thing has hit me at once and I need someone to talk to that understand and not always telling me what I need to do but to help me deal with what is going on.

Thank you for reading my story!

Welcome to the forum :)

You will get a lot of support and advice here, and we are all here to help one another.

Stress will amplify your symptoms.. I just got to a point where I realised worrying wont help anything, sure I take meds for anxiety but that doesnt always help with the stress that sneaks up on me in my daily life.. I just accept it and know it is beyond my control..
God allows things to happen for whatever reason..

The important thing right now is your health. Im sorry to hear everything is hitting you at once but for the sake of everyone who is counting on you, your health needs to come first.

Let us know what you find out about the repeat colonoscopy. If wondering is driving you nuts, call your doc and ask him why he is repeating the test. That will make you feel better. My dog has an enlarged prostate (he's 14) and doing fine. Blind in one eye and deaf, but hey, he eats like a champ and loves to go for walks.

As far as the kids go? I dunno. Once they're born they make us crazy. Take time for yourself, read, go for walks, gaze at the stars. It will bring you peace.

Thank you,

I really enjoyed reading everyone's post to my story and the advice is nice to here. I called the doctor and just said he wanted to make sure my Humeria is still working OK. I am having a flare and my stomach is swelling real bad. My dog seems healthy so like u said it maybe nothing and I can be just upset with everything that is going on. The kids r great but since there is 7 all together and the youngest is mine the situations that occur can be tricky but I'm working on that. However, I do really appreciate the comments and it did make me feel better and that made a big difference in my day, so thank u.

Just wanted to say 'hi' and :welcome: to the forum. It makes sense that the doc wants to check things inside beings it has been 4years since your last scope and you are now having some symptoms, I will be keeping fingers crossed that everything is ok, please keep us updated on how you get on.

I HATE it when my stomach swells. It's swollen right now. Slipped a disc in my back and took Motrin. *slaps self silly*

I agree with Skippy111, stress makes Crohn's worse so I have found ways to calm such as jogging, Yoga and time off work, this has helped me a great deal

Stress makes my Crohns worse too. I saw my gastroenterologist today and i am being booked in for my 3rd colonoscopy, but the last one i had was in 2005. I was in remission for a few years but having symptoms again so they are checking to see if i am having a flare up.
